Parking

The information on our directions page includes the following, which is also distributed with invitations to events at our synagogue:

Congregation Shaarei Tefillah shares the streets of Newton with our neighbors, and we encourage all those using the services and facilities of our synagogue to obey all Newton traffic and parking regulations when attending services and events.

We request all those attending non-Shabbat or Holiday events at our synagogue who must drive to adhere to the following:

No parking within five feet of a driveway.
No parking within twenty feet of a corner.
No parking where prohibited by a posted sign.
No turning around in our neighbors' driveways.
No U-turns on Morseland Avenue.
No parking directly opposite cars parked on narrow side streets.

In addition, we ask that you take care to leave an evening event as quietly as possible, being mindful of the hour, in order to maintain the residential quality of our neighborhood in which we congregate and all live together. Thank you!

Special Event Parking

For certain special events, we make arrangements for the Boston College Law School parking lot to be available for parking by guests. The entrance to the lot is on Centre Street just north of Mill Street. After turning into the main entrance bear to the left for the law school parking lot. If there is an attendant in the guardshack, just say you are attending an event at the synagogue. The parking lot is a short walk to the synagogue.
