Donations - General: Unrestricted donations that allow Shaarei to use funds where they are needed most and will be the most impactful. These donations support our professionals, programs and events, and maintaining our facility.

Afghan Resettlement Fund: This fund supports Shaarei Tefillah's Afghan Resettlement Project.

Book Donations: Donating a siddur ($36) or chumash ($54) supports our collection of prayer books. We also welcome donations to support the maintenance of our library. Please contact the office with any questions.

Chesed Fund: Shaarei Tefillah’s Chesed Committee strives to provide member families with aid and support in times of need, including death and bereavement, births, and Bikur Cholim.

Dues: These categories correspond with our membership tiers. If you are interested in joining our Shul or changing your membership category, please contact the office or our president.

Fund for the Future: The Fund for the Future is launching in 5783 for our fortieth anniversary to support future growth at Shaarei.

Kiddush: As we continue to return to Shabbat kiddushim at Shaarei, we need weekly sponsors to help fund this wonderful opportunity for communal socializing. We have not yet put into place a new sponsorship cost structure, but in the short-term interim, we are looking to a model of many smaller sponsors rather than big sponsors. For $36, please consider being a co-Kiddush sponsor to honor a child’s birthday, an adult’s birthday, an anniversary, or any cause for celebration!

Kol Nidre Appeal: The Kol Nidre Appeal is our major fundraising appeal. It is an essential part of Shaarei's budget and supports everything we do.

Maot Chittim: In the opening paragraph of the Haggadah recited at the Seder, we declare, "All who are hungry, let them come and eat." In preparation for the Passover holiday, it is age-old Jewish tradition to contribute generously towards funds that ensure that Jews in need have the necessary provisions for the holiday—food, matzah, wine, festive clothing, etc. Our Shul’s Ma’ot Chittim Campaign distributes funds to the Jewish poor of Boston and of Israel.

Matanot L'Evyonim: Leading up to Purim, we collect money for arguably the most important mitzvah of Purim - to give gifts to at least two needy individuals.

Rabbi's Discretionary Fund: A separate fund outside of Shaarei’s regular operations, this fund is for worthy causes and used at Rabbi Samuels's discretion.

Yahrzeit Donation: It is customary to make a charitable donation on the event of a loved one's yahrzeit.

Yizkor - Yom Kippur: Our Yom Kippur Yizkor appeal is in support of MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger.
